The environment is a subject that affects everyone, and with individual and collective action, we can work together to make the world a greener place. That's why we're taking action. We make it easy to sort waste, follow heating and air-conditioning recommendations to save energy, have a park planted with trees, and provide water fountains at our various sites and/or departments.
When we replaced the refrigeration units in our logistics building in Saint-Dizier, we opted for a solution that would reduce our energy consumption.
With a system of heat pumps, we recover the energy from the refrigeration units, enabling us to heat the rest of the building. Following these changes, we stopped heating the warehouse, which is now self-sufficient.
For our fleet of vehicles, our drivers are made aware of and practise eco-driving. Since 2022, we have begun our energy transition by also reducing our CO2 emissions.
To do this, we turned to Oleo100 and its production of B100. The B100 is a fuel used exclusively by heavy goods vehicles. It is a 100% plant-based and 100% French fuel. It comes from rapeseed and is a co-product of edible oil, oilcake for animal feed and glycerine.
This fuel is therefore harmless to human health and the environment. Its energy yield is virtually identical to that of diesel, while encouraging local production.
In 2022, we had 6 B100 trucks in our fleet: 3 new rigids and 3 adapted Euro 5 tractors. In 2024, our fleet has grown to include 7 additional tractor units, for a total of 15 equipped vehicles.
We have taken note, by 2022, a 60.69% reduction in CO2 emissions of our equipped vehicles compared with diesel.
This corresponds to 142.36 T of CO2 avoided.
In 2023, we have continued our efforts and, on our fleet running on B100, have achieved a more than 60% reduction in CO2 emissions of our equipped vehicles compared with diesel.
This corresponds to 188.27 T of CO2 avoidedThat's 45.95 tonnes more CO2 than in 2022!
